All About IIT-CEED Exam
CEED preparation is essential for students aiming to secure admission into India’s top design institutes. The Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED), conducted by IIT Bombay, evaluates candidates on visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills.
This exam is a qualifying test for M.Des programs at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur, and IIT Kanpur, as well as Ph.D. programs in design at these institutions. CEED Eligibility
Candidates must have completed a 4-year degree/diploma/postgraduate program or a 3+2-year program (after 10+2 level). Those appearing for their final exams are also eligible. Additionally, candidates with a GD Arts diploma (10+5 level) qualify for the exam.

CEED Exam Pattern – The CEED examination will be conducted in two parts. All candidates must answer both the parts.
Part A: The first part is a computer-based screening test designed to evaluate a candidate’s visualization and spatial ability, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, language proficiency, creativity, observation skills, and design sensitivity. Candidates who qualify for Part A, as per the method specified in the CEED admission brochure, will proceed to Part B. Part B: This section tests drawing, creativity, communication skills, and analytical problem-solving ability. The final CEED score is calculated by assigning 25% weightage to Part A and 75% to Part B.
