All about IIT UCEED Exam
The Industrial Design Center (IDC) of IIT Bombay conducts the UCEED exam every year for admission into 4 years B.Des and 5 years Integrated M.Des courses at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIITDM Jabalpur. Apart from these institutes many more Universities and Colleges shortlist the students for B.Des course using UCEED score.
UCEED Eligibility– The Students of all the stream such as Science, Arts, Commerce, Humanities etc. can write UCEED and fulfill the dream to study at IITs.
UCEED Exam Pattern – UCEED is an online exam of 3 hours duration having a maximum of 300 marks. It consists of 3 sections having different marking scheme and pattern as follows:
SECTION A: Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions: For these questions, an answer is a number that needs to be entered using a virtual keyboard on the computer screen. No choices will be shown for these questions. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks. There are NO NEGATIVE marks for this section. Questions not attempted will be given zero marks.
SECTION B: Multiple Select Questions (MSQ): Each MSQ has ONE OR MORE correct answer(s) out of the four given choices. The candidate gets 4 marks only if ALL the correct choices and NO wrong choices are selected. There are NO NEGATIVE or PARTIAL marks for this section. Questions not attempted will be given zero marks.
SECTION C: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Each MCQ has four choices out of which ONLY ONE is the correct answer. There is NEGATIVE marking for this section. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks and each wrong answer will be awarded –1 (minus one) mark. Questions not attempted will be given zero marks.
Design Aspirants’ Pedagogy for UCEED – Since UCEED is a different exam the preparation also needs to be different. As its an online exam, we have prepared a special software for the students which replicate real UCEED environment and question type. As UCEED tests students more on analytics and reasoning, we conducts special preparation classes for the same. The experience and knowledge of our core faculty, who are from IIT also comes handy here.
